Enjoy some time out on the stunning island of Eriskay in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.

White sandy beaches, the local shop and the Am Politician Bar & Restaurant are all within walking distance from the cottage.   A short drive over the causeway takes you to South Uist or if you fancy travelling on to the Isle of Barra, the CalMac ferry terminal is within close proximity.

Eriskay Holiday Cottage is a privately owned semi detached cottage on a very quiet road of 6 privately owned cottages in the heart of Eriskay.

 

The cottage has 3 double bedrooms that sleep 6 comfortably. It's fully furnished with dishwasher, washing machine, 50inch smart TV & traditional open fire and has everything you need to make your holiday more enjoyable and relaxing including superfast broadband. All bedding and towels included. 

 

Situated in a very central part of the Isle of Eriskay, the local shop, Co Chomunn Eirisgeidh and " Am Politician" , the local bar & restaurant are all within a 2 min walk from the accommodation whilst St Michael's church is a 5 min walk.

The cottage has beautiful sea views and Eriskay's beautiful white beaches are all within a couple of minutes walking distance from the cottage.

There is a regular bus service to the neighbouring island of South Uist and the Barra ferry therefore a car is not essential while you are on Eriskay.

Am Politican Bar & Restaurant

Enjoy some delicious food in Am Politician lounge bar & restaurant while learning the history of the sinking of the SS Politician which ran aground off Eriskay in February 1941 which inspired the Compton MacKenzie oil "W.

Bein Sgrithean / Ben Scrien

Take a stroll up our main hill named Bean Sgrithean and enjoy the stunning views across the Sound of Barra, South Uist and the Inner Hebrides. From 1st May to 1st October, you will be welcomed by the Eriskay Ponies who spend the summer months grazing on this hill. Summer on Beinn Sgrithean

The Eriskay Pony

The Eriskay Pony is the last remnant of Scotland’s native horse. There are fewer than 300 Eriskay Ponies in the world and the Rare Breeds Survival Trust lists its status as "Priority" on their Watchlist. Comann Each nan Eilean - The Eriskay Pony Society 

Eriskay Football Pitch

Eriskay Football Club in the Western Isles has been recognised by FIFA as one of eight unique places to play the game in the world.

St Michaels Church

Well worth visiting our local church, St Michael's,  which was built by the islanders of Eriskay and Fr. Allan MacDonald who was a local Priest, Folkorist,  poet and Gaelic Scholar.

Prince Charles Beach

Take a stroll across Prince Charlies Bay where Bonnie Prince Charlie first set foot on Scottish soil before the Jacobite Uprising.
